First, when was the last time you saw a home appliance made in the USA? I don't know, maybe when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. The company name sounds rather corny in this day and age but apparently, Jiffy Corporation has been making these types of devices since the 1940's. This steamer really works quite well!
Two very tough initial tests were a micro-fiber jacket and some all-cotton polo shirts. The unit heated up quickly and was ready for operation in about five minutes. With the various items on a hanger attached to the steamer's tall vertical hanging rod, the process of getting all the wrinkles out took maybe three or four minutes for each garment. They looked great and actually felt softer than before the steaming began. This is much easier than ironing and the look is similar. If you want your starched collar and cuffs on that dress shirt, get out the ironing board and can of starch or better yet, take your clothes to be pressed at the dry cleaners. This steamer is designed to remove wrinkles not press your clothes. I had a number of shirts and slacks to be donated to a charity, the Jiffy 2000 got me through the process quickly and efficiently. As the garment is being steamed, if you hold the bottom edge and give a gentle pull as you're moving the steam head, it makes for a quicker job.
